Lorient have this afternoon announced the sale of forward Yoane Wissa to Premier League side Brentford, with the Congolese international signing a four-year contract with an option for an extra year.
The 24-year-old leaves Lorient after a three and a half-season spell in Brittany in which he scored 34 goals, having arrived from Angers after undergoing loan spells with Laval and Ajaccio.
Wissa joins the English top flight for an undisclosed fee, with Brentford co-director of football Phil Giles explaining that an attempt had been made to sign the winger in January, but Lorient preferred to hold on to him until the summer in order to ensure their Ligue 1 survival.
