Neymar has ended the rumours linking him to a return to FC Barcelona. The Brazilian spoke with radio station Monte Carlo earlier this week and he stated he was more than happy being at Paris Saint-Germain and that he is eyeing a longer stay with the Parisians. Neymar joined PSG in 2017 and he has been linked with a return to Spain ever since.
Recently Neymar stated he wants to play with Lionel Messi again and that fueled the rumours of a possible return to Barcelona. However, seeing his statements against the French radio station it seems more likely that Neymar wants to share the pitch with Messi at PSG. Messi’s contract runs out next summer and it is expected that he will be leaving Barcelona.
Neymar has a contract that runs out in the summer of 2022 and there had been some rumours that he wasn’t planning to sign a new contract in Paris, forcing PSG to sell him in 2021. However, Neymar has had a change of heart and he is now ready to sign a new multi-year contract with the Parisians to secure his future with the club.
