The local derby between Newcastle and Central Coast has produced some memorable, high stakes matches in the past, but there is not a lot riding on this one.
Newcastle is in dire straits with just three draws in their last 12 and the only reason they are being given something resembling a chance in this fixture is because the Mariners’ form has fallen off a cliff.
By the end of the weekend they could find themselves outside of the finals picture.
I don’t have overly high hopes for this contest and there is great value in backing a low scoring affair.
