Sevilla’s sporting director, Monchi, has given an interview to Sky Sports where he has spoken about the club’s potential transfer options this summer.
Papu Gómez
In relation to reports that Sevilla playmaker Papu Gómez may be leaving for Milan, Monchi believes that he will remain at Sevilla next season: “In Sevilla, he found himself again and he is doing very well. We are very happy with his performances and I think his time here has only just begun.”
Samu Castillejo
The possible arrival of Samu Castillejo to Sevilla was also discussed, although Monchi has ruled it out: “These are rumours that I’ve read but they don’t correspond to the truth. We have many players in that role like [Lucas] Ocampos and Papu [Gómez] and we’re not interested.”
Gian Marco Ferrari
Still on the subject of transfers, he also discussed Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari who has been linked with Sevilla: “Ferrari is a good player and is in an excellent team; I suppose you’re asking me why they said we want to take him. Every day 30 or 40 names come up of players we want to sign, but there is nothing.”
