The absence of Argentine star Lionel Messi from Barcelona’s collective training on Wednesday raised questions and concerns about his health, days before the resumption of the Spanish League after a long pause due to the Corona pandemic.
The accounts of Barcelona, the leaders of the League, two points behind Real Madrid, with 11 rounds remaining, posted footage of the team’s training today, but Messi did not appear with his colleagues in the sports city of Joan Gamper.
The Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Messi had trained alone in the gym, and assured fans that Messi was ready to complete the season without problems.
The newspaper denied that Barca’s top scorer and LaLiga were suffering from any injury, confirming that he was ready for the first match after the return of the season when the defending champions and leaders will visit Mallorca on the 13th of this month.
The Barca ranks were completed with the participation of Samuel Umtiti and Ansu Fati in the group training after feeling pain in the past days, and coach Quique Setién summoned two youth teams, Jorge Cuenca and Kiki Savero.
