CCTV images have been released of three people wanted in connection with a serious assault that took place in Glasgow shortly after Rangers were defeated in the Europa League Final.

A 42-year-old was attacked by a group of men at Buchanan Bus Station in the city centre at around 12.20am on Thursday, May 19.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

Rangers had earlier lost to German side Eintracht Frankfurt 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in Seville and police say the station was busy as supporters made their way home from watching the nail-biting final.

Officers investigating the incident have now released images of three men they believe will be able to help with their enquires.

The first man is described as having short dark hair and a short dark beard. At the time of the incident he was wearing a light blue jumper and black denims.

The second has short brown hair and is clean shaven. At the time of the incident he was wearing a navy jacket and shorts with a light blue t-shirt and white trainers.

The third man was wearing a dark jumper and denims with white and blue trainers.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Anyone who recognises these three men, or has any information about the incident, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
