Marseille spend Tuesday trying to collapse OGC Nice’s Andy Delort deal

As reported by Nice-Matin, Ligue 1 side Marseille, preparing for a battle in the LFP disciplinary hearing on Wednesday against OGC Nice after the fallout of the violence that occurred on Sunday night, have been attacking Les Aiglons on a different field of play on Tuesday.

OM have spent the majority of Tuesday coming back into the frame to sign Montpellier striker Andy Delort, who had been set to complete a transfer to OGC Nice after reaching an agreement in principle to make the move on Monday night.

Les Aiglons had an opening €8m bid rebuffed over the weekend and it was believed that their latest offer to Montpellier, sitting around the €10m mark, would have been enough to conclude the deal.

However, in recent hours, OM have created a bidding war, lodging their own proposal to Delort, who is now torn between the two projects.

It is currently unclear whether or not OM have submitted a formal bid to Montpellier, but the player was sure about Les Aiglons, and now isn’t.

All in a day’s work for OM President Pablo Longoria.
