Manchester City run riot at the Etihad Stadium as they beat Leeds United 7-0 to move four points clear.
Leeds United were causing their own troubles at the back and were punished by Phil Foden in the eighth minute. City worked their way around before releasing Rodri into the chasm of space, Meslier raced off his line to smother the attempt but the ball fell for Foden who gave the hosts the lead.
Five minutes later City double their lead through Jack Grealish who headed in past Meslier.
Pep Guardiola’s men made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute through Kevin de Bruyne as City were ripping Leeds apart.
At the start of the second half, City made it 4-0. From one end to the other in an instant as City found Riyad Mahrez in space out on the right. He lined up a shot and it took a wicked deflection off Firpo on its way past Meslier, who had no chance.
In the 62nd minute, Kevin de Bruyne grabbed his brace. Gundogan played the ball inside to De Bruyne, who sent an incredible thunderbolt into the top of the corner.
Meslieer shipped in the sixth goal and it was harsh on Leeds keeper who had produced two fine saves. He saved efforts from Laporte and Stones before the City defender succeeded at the second attempt with a thumping effort into the roof of the net.
It was getting embarrassing for Leeds as they conceded the seventh from a corner with Ake heading past Meslier.
