Manchester United interim boss Ralph Rangnick has denied interest from Sevilla in Anthony Martial.
Martial appears to want out of Old Trafford amid reduced opportunities this season following the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho last summer.
The Frenchman has only made seven Premier League appearances last season, and he wants to play more regularly.
That has seen Martial linked with a move away ahead of the January transfer window, and Sevilla are reportedly one of his preferred destination.
Sevilla have been heavily linked as a result, but according to Manchester United boss Ralph Rangnick has denied any interest from Los Nervionenses.
He told reporters, as detailed by Eurosport: “We spoke at length. He explained to me he’s been at Manchester United now for the last seven years and he feels it’s the right time for a change, to go somewhere else,”
“I told him as long as there is no club showing interest in him, and it should not only be in the interest of the player it should also be in the interest of the club.
“So far, as far as I know, there has been no offer from any other club and as long as this is the case he will stay.”
Those quotes suggest Sevilla have not shown any interest in Martial, though that’s not to say they won’t now that they know for sure Martial wants to leave.
Julen Lopetegui could do with another weapon given the long-term injury to Erik Lamela, though it’s not clear whether Martial will be that man.
It seems Manchester United are only open to a permanent deal and a good offer, and that could force Sevilla to look elsewhere next month.
