Daniel Maldini is currently expected to play in the role of the trequartista in front of over 40,000 Milan fans.

The Rossoneri will step on the pitch of the San Siro tomorrow for the first time since September 28, and they’ll have to do it without some absences.

Alessandro Plizzari, Mike Maignan, Theo Hernández, Alessandro Florenzi, Tiémoué Bakayoko, Brahim Díaz and Junior Messias are certain to miss the game, while Zlatan Ibrahimović is also a doubt for the match and tomorrow there will be a decision whether he’s called-up or not.

As reported by Sky Italia, with Brahim now confirmed to be out with COVID-19, Daniel Maldini could be given the keys to lead the attack against Verona. It would be the first time Daniel plays a match from the start at San Siro, and he could do it in front of nearly 42,000 fans, following the authorities decision to open stadiums up to 75% of their original capacity.

In today’s training, Maldini was tried in the trequartista role, flanked by Alexis Saelemaekers and Ante Rebić, who is currently favored over Rafael Leão to start on the left flank of the attack. Up top, Olivier Giroud will be playing from the start. The Frenchman has finally fully recovered.

In midfield, Sandro Tonali is preferred over Ismaël Bennacer to start alongside Franck Kessié. Kessié is suspended for the midweek Champions League match against Porto after the red card he got against Atlético Madrid, so Pioli starts him in the league. Rade Krunić will be on the bench, having recovered from the injury he picked up at the start of September while on international duty.

In defense, one of Davide Calabria and Pierre Kalulu will play on the right side of the defense. Fikayo Tomori will of course play, while Alessio Romagnoli is preferred over Simon Kjær, to allow the Dane to rest following his commitments in the international break. Fodé Ballo-Touré will play in the place of Theo who is dealing with Coronavirus, while Ciprian Tătăruşanu will of course play in goal.

Probable XI (Sky): Ciprian Tătăruşanu; Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli, Fodé Ballo-Touré; Sandro Tonali, Franck Kessié; Alexis Saelemaekers, Daniel Maldini, Ante Rebić; Olivier Giroud.
