Speaking after Lyon’s 2-0 win over Monaco tonight, forward Karl Toko-Ekambi notably underlined Lucas Paquetá’s impressive late cameo, which culminated in a fantastic outside-of-the-boot pass to set up the second goal.
His words transcribed in L’Équipe, Toko-Ekambi, who opened the scoring for Lyon from the penalty spot, underlined the fact that the Brazilian’s performance came under 48 hours after playing for his country.
“It’s a very important win, we hadn’t got the results we wanted in the last few games. We couldn’t slip up, we put some positive pressure on ourselves, we worked hard during the week and the result is there.”
