Despite dropping points in a 2-2 draw at home against Brighton last time out, Liverpool and boss Jurgen Klopp have a lot to smile about at the moment.

The Reds are top of their Champions League group, in the last-eight of the League Cup and sit second in the Premier League having gone unbeaten so far.

Now it seems the Anfield club have been handed a boost off the pitch, with reports that one of their transfer targets is not interested in a move to two fellow Premier League clubs.

According to German television channel Sport1, Tottenham and Newcastle have been unsuccessful in making approaches to Red Bull Salzburg over potentially signing Karim Adeyemi.

The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for the Austrian side, netting 14 goals in 18 games, and has forced his way into the Germany national team squad.

This has seen the attacker linked with a move to Anfield, with Sport1’s chief reporter Patrick Berger tweeting that the Reds are “very interested” in the highly sought after forward.

However, Berger also claims that it’s not Liverpool, but Borussia Dortmund, who are currently leading the race as Adeyemi wants his next step to be to a league where he can best develop.

Adeyemi was on the books of German clubs TSV Forstenried, Bayern Munich and SpVgg Unterhaching as a youngster before moving to Austria in 2018.
