Liverpool are believed to have made an ‘informal offer’ of €40m plus add ons for experienced Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly and it’s gotten Kopites talking on Twitter.
The claim comes from Transfer Window Podcast, as the Reds go in search of at least one centre-back this summer.
At 29-years-old and having been linked with an Anfield switch for a number of years, Koulibaly is well known to Liverpool – especially given the numerous meetings in Champions League group stages in recent years.
This season the Senegal ace has played 20 Serie A matches, earning an average Sofascore rating of 7.04 – exceeding Virgil van Dijk’s 6.68 in the Premier League prior to his injury setback.
Koulibaly would almost certainly come in to act as an immediate partner alongside the Dutch colossus and these Kopites have been discussing the prospect…
No chance. Too old at that sort of money.
