Venue: Al Ahly WE Stadium

Al Ahly will be looking to advance to the Egyptian league summit when they face Wadi Degala in a rescheduled game in Cairo on Wednesday.

The defending champions are now three points short of leaders Zamalek, who played one match more.

A win against Wadi Degla will help them go top on level with Zamalek, but they will be leaders due to their better head-to-head record.

Al Ahly will play Wednesday’s game without many players as five of their six Egypt U-23 players continue their absence.

Winger Salah Mohsen is the only one to be selected among the six players for the game.

Coach Pitso Mosimane opted to rest them as they returned on Monday from Tokyo after participating with the Egypt U-23 team at the ongoing Olympic Games.

Defensive duo Badr Banoun and Ayman Ashraf will miss Degla game as the first is suffering from flu, while Ashraf will not be available due to automatic suspension.

The Red Devils lost for the game saw the first appearance of Karim ‘Nedvid’ Walid for the first time in two years after recovering from a persistent knee injury as his last appearance date on 2019.

On the other hand, Wadi Degla who are second from the bottom will fight fiercely as the team can’t afford to drop any points in his campaign to avoid relegation.
