Premier League side Leicester City has been knocked out of the Europa League following a 3-2 defeat to Napoli on Thursday evening.

Leicester found themselves trailing just inside four minutes of play following Adam Ounas right footed shot from the right side of the box, beating Kasper Schmeichel.

Ten minutes later, Napoli doubled their lead through Eljif Elmas with his left foot shot giving the Leicester keeper no chance.

The Foxes pulled one back through Jonny Evans with the center-back scoring from close range to keep Leicester in the game.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall levelled the scores heading into half time whistle.

In the second half, Eljif Elmas completed a double making it 3-2 and leaving the Foxes on the verge of leaving the competition early.

Brendan Rodgers’ men were given a lifeline after Legia Warsaw had a 98th-minute penalty against Spartak Moscow but Tomáš Pekhart failed to convert.

It was all confirmed as Leicester were dumped out of the Europa League and will now be featuring in the Europa Conference League.
