Lazio see Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a potential replacement for Sergey Milinkovic-Savic and a loan deal could be a possibility.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Loftus-Cheek is more than an alternative to replace Milinkovic-Savic and he first entered the shortlist of Lazio last summer. Even then, he was seen as a replacement for the Serbian but the Roman club opted to sign Toma Basic.

His profile was also briefly assessed when Milinkovic-Savic was initially about to leave in the summer of 2018. He had done well under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, impressing especially in the UEFA Europa League.

His current contract runs out in the summer of 2024 and Chelsea value him at €20 million. But a loan deal can be a possibility and while his wage demand is at €4 million per season, it can be negotiated when a transfer does materialise. Sarri believes that he will be the ideal replacement for Milinkovic-Savic, who seems closer to the exit door.
