Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard felt extreme pressure after his club got a massive beating, 2-0 in the hands of Leicester.

What was wrong with Lampard?

We could only have recalled Frank Lampard’s days with Chelsea. Many believed that the English coach is one of the best Chelsea players to have landed in Stamford Bridge. However, times have changed and his role now is to guide his players to win the game.

Lampard, who at his time was a fearless midfielder in the Premier League, had 177 goals in his 609 appearances. But when Tuesday came, his pressure skyrocketed while looking at the undesirable outcome of Chelsea from the distance. Leicester passed through Chelsea through a 2-nil score.

According to Football 365, the decision of the club to accept Lampard as the manager is untimely. The point is, the greatness of a coach could not be spelled out in just a year of success – it will take more years before an aspiring coach takes his deserving spot in the front.

Chelsea’s defeat not only staked their fifth loss in their eight Premier League games, but this heavily stained Lampard’s inability to effectively lead Chelsea to close the games.

Frank could have permitted the Blues to show their full potential on the field, but his patience got in his way. Out of 19 games, Lampard only managed to win eight, a disappointing season record for Chelsea.

Wilfred Ndidi drained the first goal for Leicester with six minutes consumed on the game clock before James Maddison struck the second and final goal just before the first half.

Chelsea could have scored twice in the game if first, the penalty was counted. Christian Pulisic was pinned down while driving towards Leicester, granting him the much-needed penalty for the scoreless Blues. However, at the 39th-minute mark, the VAR reviewed the foul with Jonny Evans being favored outside the box.

Second, when German striker Timo Werner kicked the ball at the 85th, Chelsea’s goal was disallowed due to offside violation, the Daily Mail wrote. Even if Chelsea did not win but ended up at 2-1, the Blues could have looked much better especially for Werner, who only scored one goal in his 14 matches.

“I can’t control it. I have been asked it over the last few weeks. I understand it and it is the expectation of the club whether it is right or wrong,” Lampard said after the game.

Once again, Lampard put the blame on his players after stating that they should be held responsible for what happened after Foxes sealed the victory.

Leicester now won 30 out of 35 games under coach Brendan Rodgers. The win gifted the Foxes with 38 points to come on top of the Premier League standings ahead of Manchester United.

Chelsea now sits in the eighth spot at 29 points.

With Lampard’s clear incapability to grasp the game, Ukrainian manager Andriy Shevchenko seems to be the favorite candidate to be the next boss for Chelsea, as per Metro report.

The following are the odds for the next Chelsea manager, compiled by Betfair.
