L’Équipe report this afternoon that French striker Karim Benzema’s availability to face Paris Saint-Germain next week is increasingly in doubt due to a left hamstring issue.
The Real Madrid man has yet to resume full training due to pain in his thigh, and is likely to at least miss out on this weekend’s game against Villarreal.
The former Lyon striker’s training this morning consisted of a light jog with the physio before returning to the treatment room. Los Blancos are unlikely to risk the forward, with the priority being to have him ready for the match on Tuesday.
Nevertheless, his recovery has been more difficult than initially planned, with the club telling L’Équipe that his availability to face PSG remains “an unknown”.
