Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic – and his club are seemingly looking towards England.
Tottenham have been linked with Vlahovic for some time and the links are only intensifying.
The Daily Mail reported just days ago that new Tottenham boss Antonio Conte wants Vlahovic to join him.
Tottenham aren’t alone in the race though, because bitter rivals Arsenal have joined the battle.
Tuttomercatoweb have added that Arsenal have been meeting to find an agreement with Fiorentina, but Vlahovic isn’t interested in the Gunners.
That backs up claims from Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported that Arsenal were willing to meet Fiorentina’s staggering €80million (£68million) asking price.
Now, Italian journalist Romeo Agresti has told Calciomercato that Fiorentina have sent a delegation to England to explore the market in the Premier League.
“Fiorentina wants to sell him in January to avoid dangerous dynamics. There have been a couple of trips to England to explore the local market,” said Agresti.
Vlahovic, 21, has been a goalscoring sensation for Fiorentina in recent times.
The Serbian smashed 21 goals in 37 games for Fiorentina last season – and is now proving it wasn’t a fluke.
With 10 goals in 13 games across all competitions this season, Vlahovic just can’t stop scoring.
It’s no great surprise that Arsenal and Tottenham are keen after those goalscoring exploits, but his reluctance to join Arsenal could see him head to Spurs.
Tottenham desperately need a striker moving forward, and Vlahovic could seriously ease the goalscoring burden on Harry Kane… not that’s finding the net all that regularly this season.
With Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici both big names in Italy, Tottenham could have the upper hand in the race for Vlahovic, with Fiorentina seemingly keen to sell.
