Inter continue their barren record without a win against Corinthians – Sambafoot

Inter took on Corinthians this Saturday at the Neo Química Arena, a stage that awakens only bad memories for Colorados. Still looking for stability in the season, Colorado could not end the taboo of never having beaten Timão in Itaquera in the match valid for the 9th round of the Brasileirão. In a game filled with controversy, it ended all square in a 1-1 score-line.

Inter entered the field under the ungrateful 12-year retrospective without knowing what a victory over Corinthians in São Paulo is.

This time around, Inter thought they were going to end the winless run against their opponents, after Edenilson grabbed a goal from the spot under controversial conditions. However, a late goal from Jo ensured that the wait would go on longer.

Inter played seven times against Corinthians in Itaquera. They are yet to win so far, with four defeats and three draws, with a performance rate of only 14.2%.

But the winless run against Timão in São Paulo is even longer. Inter beat Corinthians away from home for the last time in 2009, in the 1st round of the Brasileirão. On the occasion, Nilmar scored a great goal for the victory by 1-0.

It’s been 12 years and 12 games without winning on São Paulo soil. In this period, there were eight defeats and four draws.
