If there’s no Mbappe at Real Madrid and no Messi at Barcelona, who is going to pay for a LaLiga Santander ticket?

Leo Messi and Sergio Ramos, the two captains of the biggest clubs in LaLiga Santander are now officially free agents.

Without intending to put this on a par with the several million citizens not being able to work and bring home an income, we are facing very sad news.

For all the money and sporting successes that they have accumulated throughout their illustrious careers, the pair having to find a new home leaves a historical void.

Ramos‘ case is now irreversible but Messi‘s situation is perhaps more disheartening. With Barcelona needing to comply with Financial Fair Play, the Argentine’s stay at Barcelona is now far from a foregone conclusion.

Amortisations, capital gains, deferred payments, pro-rata, taxes, residences… this is the new language that surrounds the best player of all time trapped.

Hopefully Joan Laporta and Javier Tebas find a solution because, while waiting for Kylian Mbappe to arrive, if accounting issues prevent Messi from flying LaLiga’s flag, my question is: who will it be worth paying a ticket for on a Sunday?
