BUENOS AIRES, July 14 (Xinhua) — Jonathan Herrera scored two goals and set up another as Patronato moved into the top half of Argentina’s Primera Division standings on Thursday with a 3-1 away victory over Central Cordoba.

The visitors took the lead in the 11th minute when Herrera set up Sebastian Medina who drilled a left-footed effort past goalkeeper Cristopher Toselli.

Herrera was on the scoresheet shortly after halftime with a superb finish from 12 yards, and he doubled his personal tally seven minutes later by slotting home after latching onto Jonas Acevedo’s pass.

The hosts reduced the deficit when Deian Veron struck with a long-range effort into the bottom left corner seven minutes from time.

The result leaves Patronato 11th in the 28-team standings with 11 points from eight matches, while Central Cordoba are 20th with eight points.
