Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:15pm, September 19, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane looked “despondent” against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

The former Manchester United defender believes that Spurs star Kane was “despondent” in the second half of the London derby against Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday evening.

Tottenham lost the Premier League game against Chelsea 3-0.

Neville said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:15pm, September 19, 2021): “Just looked a little bit despondent in that second half, Harry Kane.

“He was out on the left at the start of the second half as he was in the first half, that front three has been switched because they had nothing.”

Harry Kane is struggling

Kane started on the left of a front-three and did not really trouble the Chelsea defence much.

The 28-year-old striker has been struggling this season, and the England international did look frustrated and devoid of ideas against the Blues.

Kane took two shots and one was on target, had a pass accuracy of 75%, won two headers, took 43 touches, attempted one dribble, made two clearances, and put in two crosses.

It is really baffling why Tottenham head coach Nuno decided to use Kane out wide against Chelsea.

The Englishman is a striker – one of the best in the world.

There is no point in deploying a striker like Kane out wide.

Nuno needs to play Kane centrally and have his creative midfielders create chances for him.
