FC Dallas Mounts Late Rally But Falls 3-2 on the Road to Houston Dynamo FC

Houston, TX – FC Dallas (6-11-9, 27 points) rallied from an 0-3 deficit but fell a goal short against Houston Dynamo FC (5-10-11, 26 points) in a 3-2 loss Saturday night at BBVA Stadium in downtown Houston.


Game Summary

First Half:

2′ – SHOT (DAL) – Ricardo Pepi’s shot inside of the box was blocked by the Houston defense, following a cross from Paxton Pomykal.

5′ – GOAL (HOU) – Fafà Picault’s deflected cross from the left side fell to Griffin Dorsey, who slotted it past Phelipe to give Houston the early 1-0 lead.

20′ – GOAL (HOU) – Dorsey’s pass inside the box setup Picault, who put the ball into an empty net to extend Houston’s lead to 2-0.

30′ – SHOT (DAL) – Pepi tried to lob the ball over the goalkeeper and the Dynamo’s defense, but his shot went over the crossbar.

36′ – SHOT (DAL) – Michael Nelson punched away Brandon Servania’s right-footed long range shot.

Second Half

48′ – SHOT (DAL) – Ricardo Pepi’s pass fell to Bryan Acosta inside the box which was blocked by the Houston defense.

55 – SHOT (DAL) – Ema Twumasi laid the ball for Jesús Ferreira who sent the ball sailing over the goal.

59′ – GOAL (HOU) – Darwin Quintero’s penalty kick bounced off the post and into the net to give Houston the 3-0 lead.

70′ – SAVE (DAL) – Phelipe saved Quintero’s shot from outside of the box.

86′ – GOAL ( DAL) – Ferreira’s through ball connected with Jáder Obrian who chipped the ball past Michael Nelson from a difficult angle to pull one back for FC Dallas.

90’+4′ – GOAL (DAL) – Eddie Munjoma’s pass fell to Obrian who unleashed a powerful right-footed shot that ended in the top right corner to make it 3-2.
