Former Kilmarnock player Aaron Simpson will enter the Love Island villa – and he could prove to be a problem for Scottish islander Dale Mehmet.
The 24-year-old has jetted over to Majorca to join the ITV2 show following the dramatic dumping of four contestants earlier this week.
Aaron currently plies his trade as a footballer and previously had a spell with Scottish Championship side Kilmarnock in 2018.
But his time with the Ayrshire club was short lived, as he only made four appearances over six months.
Now, Aaron has set his sights on having a successful time on Love Island – and reportedly has eyes on Mary Bedford, who is currently coupled up with Glasgow barber Dale.
But, the only Scots islander could be spared from potential danger as he is also looking to get to know Chloe Burrows.
In an interview with the Daily Star, Aaron said that any potential partner will need to win over his mum to make the relationship last.
He said: “Sometimes it can be hard to know if someone is genuine or not. My mum is really protective over me. The approval is always needed from mumsy, for sure.

“My family is really important to me. I’m very close to my mum, dad and my sister. I’ve got a massive family, so I want someone that can deal with that.
“A lot of people have an assumption of me as being a typical player, but I got all of that out of my system when I was younger.
“I’m definitely looking for a long-lasting relationship. I’m ready to settle down now.”
Aaron is expected to be joined by medical student Priya Gopalas as producers look for a final shake up before the show’s finale later this month.
Fans will also get to see the fallout from Faye Winter’s explosive row with Teddy Soares on tonight’s episode.
Love Island will be live on ITV2 at 9pm this evening.
