The on-loan Chelsea star opened the coring proceedings inside the first minutes with Zaniolo doubling their lead after a quick counter. While substitute Luis Muriel pulled a goal back for Atalanta before halftime, goals from Chris Smalling and another from Abraham ensured that Roma walked home with all the points.

Other games in Italy saw giants Juventus ran 2-0 winners over Bologna while Gerard Deulofeu scored twice as Udinese thrashed ten-man Cagliari 4-0.
In Germany, Borussia Dortmund’s aim of toppling Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga took a nosedive after they went 3-2 down at the hands of Hertha Berlin.
Marco Richter scored twice for Berlin with Ishak Belfodil also on target to leave Dortmund trailing Bayern by nine points.

Leipzig reign under new coach Domenico Tedesco started with a loss as they went 2-0 down to 10-man Arminia Bielefeld with Lindstrom scoring the only goal to earn Eintracht Frankfurt victory over Mainz and lift them to fifth.
In Spain, Barcelona had Nico González to thank as his late strike helped the club to a 3-2 win over Elche.
Sevilla closed the gap on leaders Real Madrid to five points following their 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid with Rayo Vallecano continuing their impressive run of form as first‑half goals from Sergio Guardiola and Alejandro Catena secured a 2-0 victory over Alavés.
