The defeat has repercussions for Sevilla, with champions Atletico Madrid drawing level on points after their 2-1 home victory over Espanyol despite being reduced to 10 men after Geoffrey Kondogbia’s 71st minute red card. Yannick Carrasco netted the winner with a 90th minute penalty. Real Betis couldn’t make up much ground on the top four after a 0-0 draw at sixth-placed Real Sociedad on Friday.
