Arsenal chief and the leading man on transfers Edu has got his eyes on securing what will be a two-year pursuit for a midfielder in 2022.
According to a report via Football.London, Lyon’s impressive starr Houssem Aouar will be the top target next year, when the Frenchman’s contract will have less than 12 months to run.
In 2020 Arsenal were reportedly quoted in excess of £50million, but with Ligue 1’s financial constraints and Aouar’s contract in its final year, the Gunners will be confident in doing a reduced-price deal.
The caveat for Arsenal will be that they will almost certainly have to qualify for the Champions League to entice an in-demand Houssem Aouar – a tall order considering the start of the season and the state of rivals such as Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Man City.
