Damion Lowe Called up by Jamaica for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Inter Miami CF defender Damion Lowe has been called up to the Jamaican National Team for its upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

In the team’s first game, the Reggae Boyz will face El Salvador at Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica on Thursday, March 24 at 7:05 p.m. ET. The team then travels to BMO Field in Toronto to take on Concacaf leaders Canada on Sunday, March 27 at 4:05 p.m. ET. Finally, Jamaica will return to Kingston to host Honduras on Wednesday, March 30 at 9:05 p.m ET in its final fixture as part of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.


Lowe has recorded over 40 caps for the Reggae Boyz, including appearances in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and the Concacaf Gold Cup. He has also scored two goals for the national team, and has worn the captain’s armband on a number of occasions.

The defender made his debut for Inter Miami CF in the team’s season opener against Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, Feb 26. The center back started and played the entire 90 minutes, during which he recorded his first clean sheet, made eight clearances and three key interceptions. Lowe’s strong performance earned him his first appearance in the MLS Team of the Week for Week 1 of the 2022 regular season, making him the first Inter Miami player to earn such honors this campaign. Additionally, he made his second Inter Miami appearance in the team’s most recent match, taking on LAFC at DRV PNK Stadium.

Lowe will be a part of Inter Miami’s squad this weekend as it visits FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium for the first time this season on Saturday, March 19. The fixture in Ohio is set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
