Craig Moore believes Rangers will find it hard to get the £15m plus transfer fee they want for Alfredo Morelos because of the global financial situation.
The former Ibrox defender reckons the valuation placed on Morelos won’t be matched because clubs are tightening their purse strings as the game recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic.
With fans still not fully returned to stadia around the world, Moore believes clubs won’t want to pay as high a transfer fee as they might have in the past.
And that goes for every club and not just for Morelos as Rangers look to hold on to him beyond the end of the transfer window and well into next season.
Morelos is a vital part of Steven Gerrard’s squad and was a key player as they clinched the title, and Moore does believe he’ll stick around at Ibrox this season to continue where he left off.

He told Go Radio: “So, it just seems a bit of a strange situation. Rangers, for me, would want to keep Morelos now and if they were going to lose him you’ve got to have a deadline, so you know exactly where you stand in regards of moving forward within the season.
“I think Morelos will stay.
“The £15-20 million you’re talking about, the market globally, it has dropped significantly.
“So, the £15-20m for me, at this moment in time, is unrealistic and Rangers aren’t going to receive an offer of that kind of value.”
