Shock pictures have showed clashes at a Scots football match at the weekend.

The images circulated on social media show police, security staff and supporters apparently in the midst of struggles during the Dundee vs Motherwell League Cup Tie on Saturday at Dens Park.

Dundee were victorious over the Lanarkshire side winning 1-0 in one of the first fixtures allowing fans back in the stands since the start of the coronavirus crisis.

But the event was marred with an arrest taking place over an alleged assault on a steward.

Police appear to lead a man away

The Since I was Young Motherwell shared pictures online showing mask clad officers and security staff from the Safe-Tay service struggling with fans.

They have claimed supporters were ‘harassed’ by security staff and are collecting further evidence to put to authorities.

A spokesman for the Fanzine also said the group ‘categorically denied’ that any assault took place on a steward.

He added: “We have been inundated with photos, videos and testimonies from supporters who attended that match on Saturday and our evidence gathering is still ongoing and formal complaints will be lodged.”
