Former Rangers kid Ciaran Dickson has made an immediate impact to Celtic’s B side after crossing the Glasgow divide earlier this week.

The new Hoops signing got on the scoresheet after being drafted straight into the starting 11 in today’s SPFL Trust Trophy clash with Greenock Morton.

The youngster made his debut for Rangers last November before being released in the summer.

And on Monday news broke that he completed his switch to Parkhead when he was pictured holding his new Hoops jersey at Celtic Park.

Dickson will wear the number 51 for his new club.

The 19-year-old made one appearance for Rangers and was handed a three-year deal in January before his shock exit.

He has since reportedly had trials at Burnley and Gillingham, but has already impressed Celtic B manager Tommy McIntyre who threw him straight into today’s squad at the Penny Cars Stadium in Airdrie.

Dickson was quick to make his mark scoring a long range effort in his debut today against Morton.

The central midfielder will be hoping to build on his assured start after his performance against the Championship side.

Steven Gerrard handed Dickson his first team debut in a 4-0 win over Falkirk in the Betfred Cup last November.

Speaking after the game, the Ibrox boss said: “I thought young Dickson was terrific. He played with energy, personality and character. He’s the type who will never let me down.

“He’s probably had a similar upbringing to myself in that he knows what it means to represent Rangers and the shirt.”
