Today has seen some good news at Chelsea regarding developing outgoing moves, something that we have been wanting to see here now for weeks.
It’s been all arrivals so far, bar Romelu Lukaku, which was the first done deal of our summer window. Whilst the arrivals have been exciting and great signings, it is wise now that Chelsea are making some progress on outgoings.
Timo Werner is set to join RB Leipzig on a permanent deal, and Malang Sarr is closing in on a move to Monaco on loan. Both deals are great.
Leipzig are set to sign Timo Werner from Chelsea, here we go! Been told it will be a permanent deal and NOT loan. Werner will leave Chelsea. 🚨⚪️🔴 #CFC

🚨 Chelsea have verbal agreement with Monaco for Malang Sarr loan. Sorting final details. Obligation to buy at ~€15m if conditions met (high appearances). If deal turned permanent, 5yr contract. 23yo defender in Monaco for medical @TheAthleticUK #CFC #ASM https://t.co/UQmZ12NoEc

Werner has high wages and we need them off our bill, and moving him on permanently means that will happen and there will be nothing further to sort out next summer. His move here just hasn’t worked out, and I think this is the best conclusion for all parties for him to leave on a permanent deal.
With Sarr, for me, I just think that unfortunately he will never be Chelsea quality, so I am pleased to see we are looking to add an obligation to buy in his loan deal, something that is also very wise. This means we get his wages off the bill, and also hopefully now he won’t be returning next summer.
These are two top moves for us, and I am hoping that they will trigger a host of outgoing deals that we still need to do before the window closes at the end of this month.
This will allow us to also complete the rest of our incoming business that we need to do before deadline day. Or maybe we might even see some deadline day drama!? I wouldn’t put it past our new owners!
