Celtic fans react to Ajeti’s Switzerland call-up

Many Celtic fans have revealed their disbelief at seeing striker Albian Ajeti receive a call-up to the Switzerland national squad for the upcoming international break.

The 24-year-old has played 11 games in all competitions this season for Ange Postecoglou’s side, but has only scored three goals.

The forward has played and completed the full 90 minutes for the Hoops in the past three games in the Scottish Championship, but it appears Celtic fans can’t quite believe why Swiss boss Murat Yakin has given him a call-up.

What did Celtic fans make of Ajeti’s Switzerland call-up?

“The manager musta no seen him play this year”

“Wit fir? Standing about the edge of the D for 90 minutes…?”

@scot_sim

“Did he win a raffle or something?”

@Celt_abroad

“There must be an identical twin”

@HaranMike6

“Is this a joke?”

@buzzbomb11

“Eh why????”

@wc2731

Given his lack of goal-scoring form for the Hoops, it’s no surprise that Celtic fans can’t quite seem to believe what Ajeti did to warrant a call-up to his national team.

What it could potentially do however, is work in Celtic’s favour in the long-run.

While things may not be working out for him back at Parkhead, Ajeti could get some much-needed confidence by scoring for Switzerland and returning back to Scotland keen on kick-starting his career again.
