Cape Town City have officially announced the transfer of striker Fagrie Lakay to Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC.

Lakay signed with Pyramids until 2024 as per the brief statement released by the Egyptian club.
And the 24-year-old was unveiled by his new club minutes before City confirmed the deal in their statement.

Lakay is joining a growing list of South Africans who are in Egypt, including Pitso Mosimane, Percy Tau and Roger de Sa among others.

Lakay, who scored 13 goals and recorded seven assists for Cape Town City in 2021, has just become a fifth player to leave the club since the start of the year.

Surprise Ralani was the first to leave as he was sold to Mamelodi Sundowns, while Abdul Ajagun has joined Sudanese side Al Hilal.
