L’Équipe report this afternoon that Bordeaux are set to sign Ghana international Gideon Mensah from Salzburg, with the left-back expected to join on a loan deal with a permanent option.

The defender, who spent last season out on loan with Vitória de Guimarães, is the latest in a host of signings expected to come in for Les Girondins before the end of the transfer window, as the arrival of new owner Gérard Lopez kickstarts their summer business – Boavista’s Alberth Elis and Ricardo Mangas are also set to sign for the Marine et Blanc.

The 23-year-old, a Ghana international since 2019, has been with the Austrian club since 2017 and has undergone a series of loan spells, having spent time with Sturm Graz and Zulte-Waregem as well.
