BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) — Boca Juniors have reached a deal to sign highly rated goalkeeper Leandro Brey from Atletico Los Andes.

The Argentine giants will finalize details of a long-term contract with the 19-year-old pending a medical, Los Andes said in a statement.

“Once the corresponding steps have been completed, the board of directors of Atletico Los Andes will inform the terms of the operation through an official statement,” it added.

Boca sought to secure Brey after agreeing to loan out Agustin Lastra to their Primera Division rivals Aldosivi. He is expected to begin his spell at La Bombonera as an understudy to Agustin Rossi and Javier Garcia.

Boca will open their 2022 Argentine top-flight campaign with a home clash against Colon on February 13.
