Scotland star Billy Gilmour is closing in on a loan move to Norwich City ahead of the new campaign.
The former Rangers youngster was pictured at the club’s training base as he prepared to complete his move, despite interest from elsewhere.
Rangers were believed to be interested in bringing him back to Ibrox but Chelsea want him to stay in the English Premier League and Norwich have swooped to sign him.
Canaries boss Daniel Farke is a former colleague of Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel and used his contacts to get him to Carrow Road ahaed of the Premier League return.
He’ll play alongside Scotland team-mate Kenny McLean as they look to make it a more successful Premier League appearance than when they were relegated two years ago.
Gilmour impressed during his only Euro 2020 appearance as he was named man of the match for Steve Clarke’s side during their 0-0 draw with England.
But he suffered a huge blow in the days that followed as he tested positive for Covid-19 and was forced to sit out of Scotland’s clash with Croatia at Hampden.
Now he’s looking to get regular first team football to prepare him for a return to Chelsea and challenge for a starting spot at the Champions League winners.
