A violent brawl broke out at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station late Monday night between fans of the Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer teams. A Hapoel Tel Aviv fan was stabbed during the melee, according to Israeli media.
The incident, which followed a match at Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium between the two teams, was sparked by Beitar fans who attacked first, according to initial reports. Eyewitnesses near the area say they saw a fan of Hapoel Tel Aviv bleeding.

Other incidents reportedly took place in the stadium. Beitar fans threw lighters at Hapoel Tel Aviv player Idan Vered during the game, according to Sport 1.
Three suspects were arrested near the stadium on suspicion of involvement in violent incidents in the vicinity and for attacking a motorist before the game. The driver of the vehicle did not need medical attention.
Police arrested another nine suspects on Tuesday for stone-throwing, assaulting a police officer and causing damage.

The violence followed a recent decision by the Israel Football Association to close the eastern stands at Teddy Stadium to penalize Beitar for its fans’ unruly behavior.
Hapoel Tel Aviv won the game 2-0.
