Beijing Guoan duo linked with Changchun Yatai move – Wild East Football

Changchun Yatai have yet to announce any new transfers, but two players on the books of Beijing Guoan appear to be close to moving to the northeast.

With multiple rumours linking various Changchun players with moves elsewhere, it is unsurprising to see players of similar positions linked with moves to the club.

Yu Rui, one of the team’s best and most reliable players, appears to be close to a move to Shanghai SIPG, meaning that a new centre back needs to be brought in to fill the void.

Li Xiaoming could potentially feature, having joined the club last season, but his loan move to Nantong Zhiyun during the 2019 season suggests he’s more of a backup option at this point.

Beijing Guoan’s Zhang Yu has been named as one of two players that appear set to join Changchun’s winter training with a view to moving on a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old doesn’t have too much professional experience, with 34 total appearances for Beijing over the past two seasons, but he played a role in the team’s CFA Cup success in 2018.

All of his experience has come in the Chinese Super League, CFA Cup and AFC Champions League, which should make him more than capable of taking on a larger role in China League One.

Zhang’s teammate, Hu Yanqiang, has also been rumoured to be joining up with Changchun’s winter training, returning to the northeast after starting his career with Liaoning.

Like Zhang, Hu’s experience has primarily come in the top tier of Chinese football, with 93 total appearances with Liaoning and Beijing.

After Liaoning were relegated in 2017, Hu joined the Chinese giants but made just eight total appearances in 2018 and failed to make a single appearance in the CSL last season.

Now with new wage restrictions being placed on Chinese clubs, players such as Hu now find themselves as surplus to requirements and will be hoping to stake a claim on a place in Changchun Yatai’s squad.

Hu Yanqiang

He is a versatile midfielder that is capable of playing virtually everywhere in the middle of the park, though he has played out wide more often. Having a player capable of moving anywhere around the field will certainly help new manager Samvel Babayan, who will be hoping he still has the same amount of talent he showed earlier in his career.
