Bechem United coach, Kassim Mingle has criticized referee Owusu Maxwell for the penalty awarded against his defender after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Medeama on Sunday.
The Hunters lost further ground in the Ghana Premier League title race with the costly defeat at the Akoon Park after Vincent Atinga converts from the spot in stoppage time.
Bechem United looked to have salvaged a point at Tarkwa, but Atinga’s penalty halted their ten games unbeaten run.
Speaking to the media after the game, furious Kassim mingle accused the match officials of cheating his side describing the penalty awarded to the host as dubious.
“Medeama can’t beat us unless through such a dubious penalty.
“I trust my players and there’s no way to beat us in the 90 minutes. Your best will be a draw.”
Bechem United have dropped to third on the League standings and are now ten points off the pace.
The Hunters will face Asante Kotoko in matchday 19 of the Ghana Premier League.
