Barcelona are said to have made Morata their number one target again as Juventus are said to be closing in on Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic. Vlahovic, 21, has attracted interest from top European clubs as his goal-scoring form saw him register 69 goals in 2021, levelling him with Cristiano Ronaldo in the second place in the elite list of the most number of goals scored in a calendar year. Only Lionel Messi with 91 goals is ahead of the Serbian.
The 21-year-old has been in red-hot form this season as he has managed to score 17 goals from 21 outings for the La Viola in Serie A. With that said, the striker’s contract is set to expire in 2023 and Fiorentina are looking to cash in on the Serbian after he declined numerous offers from his current club, including one which would make him the highest earner in the club’s history.
Juventus close in on Vlahovic
Reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed via Twitter that Bianconeri have submitted an official bid for Vlahovic on Tuesday. It is understood that the former Serie A champions have made an offer of €75 million for the striker, with Fiorentina ‘ready to accept’ the deal. There is also an already existing verbal agreement between the two clubs regarding the sale of the 21-year-old, Romano understands.
“Juventus have submitted an official bid for Dusan Vlahović and Fiorentina are prepared to accept: €75m fee on the table to sign Serbian striker immediately. A verbal agreement between clubs in place. #Vlahovic

Juventus are now working on striking a personal agreement with the 21-year-old, who is said to be open to joining Juve.
Barcelona to cash in on Juve striker Alvaro Morata
Barcelona are looking to sign Morata from Juve on loan, at least until the end of this season. The Spaniard is said to be keen on joining the former La Liga champions and Juventus are also said to be open to parting ways with the 29-year-old. This has been the situation this entire month but a deal could not be finalized since the Turin-based outfit were said to be considering talks involving Morata only if they had a replacement in place.
This winter Barcelona have been chasing Morata but they soon gave up. However, with Ansu Fati injured, and Ousmane Dembele falling out with the club, Xavi is said to be looking for a new goal-scorer and the 42-year-old has identified Morata as a potential piece in his jigsaw. Having said that, it is not going to be easy for the Blaugrana as they have to facilitate a few departures before they can sign the former Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid striker. Moreover, Atleti will need to be involved in the negotiations as Morata is currently on loan at Turin. The reigning La Liga champions are not said to be open to reinforcing a direct rival which is why landing the 29-year-old will not be a straightforward deal.
With the winter window entering its final week, it is a race against time for the former La Liga champions to land Morata. The completion of the potential deal totally depends on whether Juventus will be able to sign Vlahovic; which is looking imminent.
Do you think Barcelona will be able to sign Morata and more importantly, will Juve be able to land Vlahovic despite their recent financial struggles?
