Barcelona are not interested in signing Arsenal’s Aubameyang

Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was subject to interest from La Liga side, Barcelona, on Monday. However, since the rumours of their possible pursuit of him, the Spanish club has since claimed he is not in their plans at all.

Prior to this, Mikel Arteta left Aubameyang out of the matchday squad to take on Brentford to instigated the EPL 2021/2022 season, which added fuel to the fire. But this was due to him being unwell, which resulted in the Gunners shooting blanks upfront and then eventually losing all three points to the new boys.

Barca’s situation doesn’t allow for new signings

Barca have stated previously that sales would have to take place first in order to acquire the services of the forward or anybody else they are looking at signing.

At the start of the week, the La Liga side wanted him at the Camp Nou and included with these talks was that the Catalans were prepared to include Philippe Countinho in a swap deal to get him off their wage bill.

As of now and per the president and club insiders, the club has no interest in signing Aubameyang, nor do they want to involve Countinho as part of the transfer.

In the Gunners camp, some outlets believe Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wants to/wanted to make the switch and play for the Spanish giants.

This could stem from the fact that Arsenal have made it no secret they are in the market for another person to lead the attacking line; ready to part ways with both him and Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners have already lost out on trying to sign Tammy Abraham from Chelsea following his move to Serie A club, A.S. Roma.

They now also look set to miss out on the opportunity of signing Lautaro Martínez from Inter – they want to keep him after losing Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea; a new contract is in the process of being handed to Martínez who also claims he would love to stay in Italy rather than move abroad.
