BUENOS AIRES, July 1 (Xinhua) — Ramiro Enrique scored twice as Banfield rose to third in Argentina’s Primera Division standings on Friday with a 3-0 away win over Boca Juniors.
Giuliano Galoppo gave Banfield the lead before the half-hour mark before Enrique struck twice within four minutes to effectively put the result beyond doubt at halftime.
Banfield now have 11 points from six matches, two points behind leaders Newell’s Old Boys. Boca have lost their past two games and now occupy seventh place in the standings.
In Friday’s only other Primera Division fixture, Argentino’s Juniors won 2-1 at Central Cordoba.
