Ismail Azzaoui netted twice as Heracles Almelo defeated Fortuna Sittard 3-1 on Saturday evening.
The game was only five minutes old before fans set off fireworks after forcing their way into the stadium. The game was stopped for a short period until the fans were removed.
In the sixth minute, Ismail Azzaoui gave the hosts the lead with a low strike from distance before Zian Flemming quickly equalised. Heracles goalkeeper Janis Blaswich left his goal too early and Flemming found the empty net.
Azzouzi then restored the host’s lead in the 30th minute with an excellent strike that found the net via the underside of the crossbar. Kaj Sierhuis then sealed the victory for Heracles with a free-kick after 67 minutes.
Heracles are 12th after the victory while Fortuna Sittard are 17th.
