Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke has been speaking on the latest edition of The Done Deal Show on The Football Terrace’s YouTube channel to discuss all things transfer-related.
One name which was mentioned by the former Sky Sports man was that of Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, who has been linked with a potential move to Aston Villa.
Would signing Smith Rowe mean Grealish is likely to leave?
Yes
No
The 20-year-old made 20 appearances for the Gunners last season in the Premier League which saw him rack up two goals and four assists (via Transfermarkt).
Dean Smith’s side have reportedly already made two offers to the north London club for their young star, but both were believed to have been rejected by Arsenal.
Speaking on the matter, the transfer insider had the following to say on the youngster’s future.
“As you said, they’ve [Aston Villa] made two bids – £25m for the first bid, up to £30m for the second. And I think they’re going to come back with a third bid.
“So they’re obviously being fed some information, I’m guessing from Smith Rowe’s representatives to keep making these bids to try and force Arsenal’s hand and they must be getting encouraging signs that maybe a deal could happen here.”
TIF Thoughts on Smith Rowe’s future…
This could be a great move for Aston Villa if they are able to secure the services of Smith Rowe, who has shown promise in his little time playing Premier League football.
The Villans have already secured the services of Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City this summer who provides a real goal threat having netted 15 times in the Championship last season (via Transfermarkt).
However, does this potential signing bring further question marks over the future of Jack Grealish who is being linked with a move away to Manchester City this summer?
