The transfer talk surrounding Chelsea striker and Arsenal target Tammy Abraham has taken a surprising twist with Italy now the likely destination for the England international.
According to a report in the Express, Abraham will enter talks over the coming days with Italian Serie A side Atalanta, with a fee apparently agreed in the region of £40million.
The 23-year-old has been made surplus to requirements under manager Thomas Tuchel and there appears no way back for the striker whose club are now eyeing up a big-money move for goalscorer Romelu Lukaku.
Arsenal in recent weeks emerged as one of the frontrunners to sign Tammy Abraham, a proven goalscorer in English football, but it’s Atalanta, a recent Champions League regular club, who are now closing-in on Englishman.
