Arsenal will be angry having suffered another bit of frustrating transfer news this month, with reports indicating that striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is digging his heels in and putting the breaks on a proposed move to Saudi Arabia.
According to a report in the Mirror, the Gabon goalscorer wants a move to a big ‘European giant’ with Paris Saint-Germain potentially in the mix to sign the 32-year-old.
An interested club in Saudi Arabia is willing to pay Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract in-full for the rest of the season with an option to buy included – a bid that greatly enticed the Gunners, but the striker isn’t as keen on potentially seeing out his career outside of Europe’s top leagues.
There appears to be no willingness on the player’s part, so expect this transfer to fall flat before it progresses further – the stand off is likely to continue unless a deal with a rival club can agree to take on the majority of Aubameyang’s astronomical wages of £350k-a-week.
