Antonio Conte and Inter Milan agree to mutually part ways

Fabrizio Romano reported both Conte and Inter have come to an agreement to part ways immediately.

This isn’t the first time the former Chelsea and Juventus manager has threatened to quit. Even when the club bought the players he asked for, Conte lamented the lack of players following successive group stage exits in the Champions League.

It would have been safe to assume this was a similar situation and that they would be able to figure things out.

Turns out that wasn’t the case and now Inter find themselves not only without a manager, but having to pay Conte as his contract was set to run until June 2022.

Conte will have his fair share of suitors following Inter Milan exit

The question now is where will Conte end up next. According to Diario AS, Conte’s name has been linked to Real Madrid if Zinedine Zidane decides to leave. Were it to happen, it would be a reunion between him and the much-maligned Eden Hazard.

An outside shot would be Barcelona who may be on the lookout for a replacement for Ronald Koeman. A decision on his future is yet to be made but nothing is certain.

Conte could also want another shot in England and could be a candidate for the Spurs job. Tottenham fired Jose Mourinho and named Ryan Mason as interim manager.

The problem is Spurs may looking for a different type of profile and Conte may want to coach a team who is in the Champions League next season.

In any case, Conte appears to be very clear in what he expects from a club. He wants a team that can compete and bring him the players to do so. He stuck it out with Inter until they made it known they were not on the same page.

Conte leaves Inter Milan having won the Serie A title and reaching a Europa League final. Simone Inzaghi and Massimiliano Allegri are two possible replacements.
