Alfredo Morelos wanted by Porto as Rangers star’s agent ‘arrives in Portugal’ for talks

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos’ agent is set to hold talks with Porto, according to a report.

The Colombian was linked with a move to Portugal last summer and it appears the club are making a move for him again.

That would see him link up with ex-Rangers pal Fabio Cardoso at the Oporto club as they look to strengthen following a disappointing league campaign.

Portuguese outlet Maisfutebol say Michael Gorman will land in Portugal in the next few hours to begin negotiations with the club.

No deal has been agreed with between the clubs and they say that they will only begin negotiations with Rangers if they agree terms with the club.

The 24-year-old was close to a move away from Ibrox last summer when Lille made a move but they wouldn’t pay the money Rangers wanted.

Steven Gerrard wants to keep the Colombian at the club ahead of their Champions League campaign.

Morelos is currently away on international duty at the Copa America but was left out of the Colombia squad for their 0-0 draw with Venezuela on Thursday night.

The Ibrox side have signed Fashion Sakala this summer to help with their attacking options but will be desperate to hold onto Morelos.
